Ramesh Shankaran

Ramesh Shankaran is Regional Director for International Certification & Accreditation and works for the global standards development and certification organization, American Welding Society.

He primarily works with Skill development organizations, ministry of skill development, technical
education, higher education and large manufacturing corporations in Europe, Middle East and Asia,
for Certification of individuals and Accreditation of facilities. Custom Content development for
blended offerings, in classroom offerings and online offerings are his main forte. He also acts as a
test supervisor for certification exams in Middle East & Asia.

With over two decades of experience working in the professional and education sector, Ramesh
Shankaran has played key roles in the different Education Verticals focusing on Syllabus revisions,
Pedagogy Training and Project Management. With an amalgamation of experience from various sectors, Ramesh has been a part of several organizations involved in different content development requirements and have had vast experience in academic and corporate collaborations. Prior to joining AWS, he was associated with SAGE Publications India Pvt. Ltd. as Regional Head – South India and West India, for Higher Education Textbook and Reference books
adoptions in the HSS Domains.

During his tenure at Pearson India Education Services Pvt. Ltd., Ramesh was spear heading the Digital Vertical for South of India and worked with Technology adoption by educational institutions which included SAAS based approach to Lecture Captur Solutions and content development and dissemination in the technology and engineering verticals via Digital mode.

Pedagogy training content development, Training of Trainers, English Language Proficiency improvement, and work force education were the other verticals handled by Ramesh.

He has also worked in Wiley India Pvt. Ltd. for over a decade, mainly focusing on the Higher Education and Research Vertical for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics and acquired content for worldwide publishing from India and southeast Asia.
