Working as Inspection / Corrosion Engineer with Saudi Aramco in Jeddah ,Saudi Arabia. He began working in the oil & gas industry in the early 2016. He received his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Umm AlQura University and he is API 653 / 570 certified.

Western Region distribution Department is one of the Saudi Aramco downstream organizations that operate 120 different tanks which store Diesel oil, Kerosene, and gasoline Products.

This study presents the findings from a Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) conducted on two atmospheric storage tanks, aimed at evaluating the feasibility of extending the internal inspection interval from 10 years to 15 years. The RBI methodology, guided by the standards API 653 and API 580, recommended the extension based on a comprehensive risk assessment. After 15 years, an internal inspection was performed, revealing that the tanks remained in good condition. This outcome validates the initial recommendation and highlights the effectiveness of RBI in ensuring safe and reliable tank operation. The study underscores the importance of long-term monitoring and risk assessment in optimizing inspection schedules and maintaining safety in storage tank operations.
